Fortunately for those stumped with the latest word, Newsweek has assembled a guide of hints and tricks to help you solve the digital puzzle.
Wordle is a daily game where players have to guess a five-letter word using a color-coded system that shows how close they are to getting the right answer. Green means a letter is in the right position, yellow means a letter is in the word but is in the wrong position, and gray means a letter isn’t in the word.
If you haven’t tried Wordle yet, you can do so for free here.
The game was originally created by software engineer Josh Wardle for his puzzle-loving partner Palak Shah during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. It started off with a small number of players but it wasn’t long before it took the world by storm and became a global phenomenon.
The game launched with just 90 active players in October 2021 but is now pulling in millions of players every day.
The New York Times bought Wordle from its original creator in January 2022 for an undisclosed seven-figure sum and it remains in their domain.
It has even inspired a number of different puzzles, including the music-based Heardle, the math-based Nerdle, and the challenging Quordle, which requires players to solve four words in just nine attempts.
For those struggling to answer today’s Wordle puzzle, Newsweek has a few hints and tips to help.
