The Origins of ‘Wordle’
It was originally created by software engineer Josh Wardle, for his partner Palak Shah, so that they could play it together. He launched it to the public in October 2021, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and it quickly became very popular.
At first, there were circa 90 people who played the game. It has since grown into a worldwide phenomenon with tens of millions of active users.

Wardle, the creator, recommends that your first attempts eliminate as much of the alphabet as possible.
We recommend that your first word have plenty of vowels, such as AUDIO, and that you avoid specific letters such as X, W, Z, until you have a better understanding of what the word actually might be.
Matthew Robinson, a junior client service director, claims to have a “100 percent win record since starting to play the game in January.”
He revealed to Newsweek his best tips and tricks to solve the game:
“One tip that I have is to try, where possible, to cover as many vowels as possible in your first two words, as it really helps to narrow down the options and puts you in a good position to get a 3/6”.
