On Friday, the show host was spotted attending an ice hockey game between the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning with his 24-year-old daughter, Maggie, People reported. The outing came three weeks after Sajak, 73, underwent surgery for a blocked intestine.

“Always great to see Pat around the arena,” NBC Sports Washington’s Craig Laughlin reportedly remarked during the third period of the game, according to a Washington Capitals blog site, RMNB. “Loves his hockey. He’s getting better. He says the worst has passed Joe B after that surgery so well wishes to Pat and the family.”

News of Sajak’s condition first came from the Wheel of Fortune Twitter account on November 8, when it was also revealed that stepping in during his absence would be TV personality Vanna White, who had been a hostess for the game show since its debut in 1982.

“Our taping on Thursday was canceled because host Pat Sajak underwent successful emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine,” the show tweeted. “He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work. Taping resumed today as scheduled and Vanna White has stepped in as host.”

The following week, on November 15, the syndicated game show announced that its host was back home and “on the mend” following the surgery, along with a message Sajak wished to convey to fans of Wheel of Fortune. “For better or worse, doctors tell me they did not remove my sense of humor. See you all soon,” he wrote.

Earlier this week, the reported Capitals season ticket-holder appeared to be in good spirits, tweeting about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

“I’m planning another Earth-friendly Thanksgiving,” he posted on Wednesday. “After over-indulging on our traditional turkey dinner, I plan to take a long nap instead of burning fossil fuel in my car.”

According to TVLine, both Sajak and White, who have worked together for the last 37 years recently renewed their Wheel of Fortune contracts through 2022. “We’re one big family. It’s wonderful,” White told People of her relationship with the Wheel of Fortune cast and crew.

During his absence, she tweeted: “Wheel of Fortune without @patsajak is like a word without vowels. I’ll fill in the blanks until you return. Rest up and we’ll be solving puzzles in no time. (Don’t worry, your job is safe! Well, pretty safe.)”
