The new series follows the iconic Addams Family character, played by Jenna Ortega, 20, as she tackles her most interesting challenge yet: high school.

Given how beloved the Addams family are—including parents Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmán), and Wednesday’s brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez)—it is likely that viewers are wondering when exactly the show will arrive on the streaming platform. Here is everything you need to know.

‘Wednesday’ Release Time: When ‘Addams Family’ Spin-Off Drops on Netflix

In Wednesday, the titular character heads to a new school called Nevermore Academy after her methods of defending brother Pugsley from his bullies leads to her being expelled from her regular high school.

Now in a new environment, Wednesday has to break out on her own without her family there to wreak havoc with her, and she soon begins to uncover the school’s dark secrets and begins to investigate an intriguing mystery.

Alfred Gough, who co-created the show alongside Miles Millar, told Newsweek how they wanted to do something different with the franchise, saying: “Wednesday, for us, has always been the most interesting character in the Addams family, and we’ve only really seen her as like a 10-year-old girl who has the zinger at the end of a scene or the biting comment.

“But we thought, ‘What happens when this character grows up? And what does her journey look like?’ Miles and I have four teenage daughters, so we are very much in that journey, and various stages of that journey.”

Gough added: “[We put] teenage Wednesday Addams in boarding school because we wanted to take her out of the family but also put her in that situation—what you have in boarding school, or when you first go to college—where you’re making your new family. It becomes your friends, and this is a girl who has never had to make friends before.”

As usual with Netflix content, Wednesday will be released at exactly midnight Pacific Time on the streaming platform.

So, the time the show comes to the streamer in your region will depend on your time difference from America’s West Coast, which is eight hours behind coordinated universal time, or UTC.
